WHITE NIGHT 2016
White Night Melbourne is when the city turned on its head for one night only in an all-night celebration of culture and creativity.
This year is my first White Night in Melbourne, ever. It was such an amazing experience where they transforms the city through installation, lighting, exhibitions, street performances, film, music, dance and interactive events and takes place in Melbourne’s streets and laneways, parklands, public spaces and cultural institutions.
Here’s some pictures that I took at the Hosier Lane. It’s the neon laneway!
Though it was an overnight event, still, I did not manage to stroll around the city to see the beautiful lighting that was happening in a flash. There was a conjunction especially on the main st. which is Swanston Street and by the time we got to the Federation Square, it was already over. Even the neon laneways, it was a 30′ queue to a 5′ walk-in through. The queue to another amazing one that was in the State Library was extremely long and the clock almost hit the dawn so we decided to get back home.
What a shame…
Definitely will start strolling when the time hits 7pm right away so that I could see more of the beautiful things happening only once a year in the city. See you in 2017!
